In our imagination, being a YouTube producer looks something like this:

- Get millions of views
- Sell leases
- Rappers discover you
- Build a huge audience
- Become famous
The reality is often a little different:

- Make a thumbnail
- Write a description
- Add tags
- Upload
- Post it everywhere
- Reply to comments
- Check analytics
- See 23 views
- Make another beat
And then someone comments:
“Fire beat bro! Can I use it for free?”
And Then Comes the Algorithm
YouTube’s algorithm can sometimes feel like a mysterious creature living inside your computer.
You make a beat specifically for rappers.
You optimize everything.
You create a great thumbnail.
You upload consistently.
And YouTube says:
“Hmm… I think people who watch videos about cooking might enjoy this.”
Meanwhile, your perfect audience is somewhere else completely.
That’s probably one of the most frustrating parts of being an independent producer.
So Why Do We Keep Doing It?
Because eventually, someone hears your beat and says:
“This is exactly what I was looking for.”
And suddenly all those hours become worth it.
Maybe it’s one rapper discovering your music.
Maybe it’s one person buying a lease.
Maybe it’s one comment from someone who genuinely connected with your beat.
Or maybe it’s simply that moment when you finish a track and think:
“Damn… I actually made something I love.”
That’s the real reason many producers keep going.
Not every beat will get thousands of views.
Not every upload will become a hit.
Not every rapper will become a customer.
But every beat is another step forward.
No Fame. No Shortcuts. Just Beats.
